El Colorado is located 39 kilometres to the east of Santiago. It is in the Andes Mountain. This Resort is at 3.333 metres above the sea level. This place receives short but abundant snow with an average of 3.5 metres of snow in a normal year.

This Centre is formed of two interconnected villages, each one with Hotels, lodges, refuges and apartments. El Colorado is next to La Parva and Valle Nevado, this is the major and best ski surface in South America.

El Colorado Ski Centre, due to its locations near to Santiago, for the services offered and the ski slopes has been transformed in the ideal centre to the practice of skiing and snowboarding for families and young people during the winter season.

Access

Farellones El Colorado ski centre is located in the Andes Mountain. Follow the route to Farellones, until curve 40, go to Valle Nevado. It gets in one hour by pavement road. Occasionally wheel-chains are required.

La Parva

High Season

Weekends, holidays and the period between July 3th and 15th of August, both dates inclusive.

La Parva is located in the Andes Mountain, going from Santiago less than 50 kilometres and 2.700 meters above the sea level. This place has a beautiful view to the valley of Santiago.

La Parva is a small town in the mountain. This is the winter Centre with major population, due to the variety of refuges and private apartments, which you can rent during the ski season.

Here it is possible to find a Snow Park and you can practice the Heli ski.

Access

From Santiago you can go to La Parva by Las Condes Avenue. Then take the route to Farellones.

Occasionally wheel-chains are required, which are rented in the place.

Valle Nevado

Ski - Valle Nevado

Valle Nevado is located 60 kilometres to the east of Santiago. This centre is connected with La Parva and El Colorado, and these three centres are the biggest ski surface in the South Hemisphere, “The three valleys of Los Andes”. The surface of this area is over 10.000 hectares and the mountains are over 5.000 metres above the sea level. There are more than 107 kilometres of tracks in total, in the three valleys and 41 ski lifts in this place, it is the only high-speed detachable quad chairlift in Chile and one of the most modern chairlifts in the world.

This Ski Resort was built in 1988 by French Company, at the foot of the El Plomo Peak. It was the inspiration of the modern European Resorts. This Ski Centre became visited for tourists of Chile, South America and other places of the world.

From 1998, it is under the administration of a Chilean business group, it continues progressing towards the future, and is the most modern Resort in South America.

Valle Nevado Ski Resort has three Hotels and apartments for 6 or 8 persons.

Lagunillas

Lagunillas is the less known Ski Centre in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago. It is located 67 kilometres to the southeast of Santiago, and 2.200 metres above the sea level. This place is very near to the small town called San José de Maipo. Due to its geographical location, lets the skiers combine the white sport with a nice excursion to the mountain.

This Centre was founded, managed and developed by the Club Andino of Chile, since 1933, Lagunillas is the only not-commercial Ski Centre in Chile.

Lagunillas Ski Centre has 13 tracks and their difficulty levels change from easy, medium, difficult and expert. The most popular slopes are Novicios, Pancho and Lola with 350 and 1.100 metres of long. In this Centre is possible to practice night ski.

Access

Go from Santiago by route G-25, cross San José de Maipo town, three kilometers from the town turn to the left until kilometer 17 and there is Lagunillas. In winter wheel- chains are required from the police control station.
