Is located 164 kms. From Santiago at 2.850 meters above sea level, in Valparaiso Region. It is on the International Highway that runs from Santiago, Chile to Mendoza, Argentina. The highest mountain in the western hemisphere, "The Aconcagua" is next to Portillo. The ski area surrounds "Laguna del Inca" a beautiful lake immerse in a spectacular Andean landscape.
Portillo is the most famous and oldest Ski Centre in South America. Here took place the first Ski World Championship held in 1966.
The centre counts with 14 ski lifts, and 23 tracks. Difficulty levels varies from beginners to expert, Snowboard and Heli Ski are also offered. And incredible mountain experience with intense emotions, can be achieved in Portillo, reputed to have the most difficult slopes in the world.
